LEAF 02 · WHY I MADE THIS
Why I made this
Repeatedly arranging one-shot samples, inserting consistent gaps, and exporting one longer file interrupted Darrel's music-making before the creative work began. A full audio editor could do the job, but exposed far more setup and functionality than this single preparation step needed.

LEAF 03 · HOW IT WORKS
How it works
Sample Splicer combines multiple uploaded one-shot samples into one longer audio file. It preserves their source order, inserts adjustable silence, handles mono and stereo inputs safely, and provides preview and download actions. The result is intended to move into a sampler and be chopped there.
- 01Upload one-shots
- 02Preserve their order
- 03Adjust silence
- 04Preview and export
Its identity comes from what it refuses to become. Sample Splicer prepares media for another tool instead of adding waveforms, sequencing, or a DAW-like editing environment. The boundary keeps the interface aligned with the exact friction that caused the project.

Preserve source order
The exported file follows the uploaded sequence rather than sorting or randomizing it. Predictable placement matters when the result is chopped later.
Keep the utility narrow—and previewable
Adjustable spacing and preview support the preparation task without expanding its scope. The user can check the assembly before downloading one combined file.

Where it is now
Verified current state
Sample Splicer is a public working browser utility. Multiple upload, preserved order, adjustable silence, preview, export, and mono/stereo-safe handling are verified. Accepted formats, output format, processing architecture, spacing range, file limits, browser coverage, creation date, measured time savings, and external use remain undocumented.
What carried forward
Feature restraint can be the primary product decision. A tiny purpose-built utility can remove the exact friction that a larger general-purpose tool leaves in place and protect creative momentum. The surrounding workflow should define where the product ends.
